I had GPO4, COMP2 and only the library of the sounds that comes with Finale were there. This was on an older version Aria player and I got this "WIN_ARIA_Engine_Free_Sounds_Vol1" what I wrote earlier I meant Finale should pick it up and display it by CTRL K. I am not such a wako! open the Aria player on the right side there is a button settings press that button. I'm using a I7 computer windows 10 with finale 2014.5. I don't know what these sounds are, it's free I thought why not. But these I didn't see nothing to show me what I need to do. it was a hassle you need to download a zip then some files paste them here,other's there. Now to be honest even with the bought sounds as GPO4 etc. On the Aria engine there is a button that you could download free sound patches. GPO4, JaBB3, GIO, COMB2, GWI, GIFF, Steinway Basic. If that's what the post means, then the instructions for using them are included on that page. I haven't tried it with a new file yet.What MakeMusic product ad version are you .what "free patches?"
I don't know if this is correct but it seems to work with an existing file. I then realized that all of the banks had their volume faders set to 0 so I turned up the volume on the first bank and now have sound. I used the Reassign Instruments feature and still no sound. Aria play was then available under the VST Banks and Effects but there was no sound. Eventually I got to a pathway that worked but it's not quite the one that's listed.

Rescanning for VST did not resolve the issue so I followed the manual route. I followed this support article though it's not totally current: Should I uninstall and reinstall? I since have had some succes but am not sure if it's correct. I didn't restart or shut down at that point but have restarted several times since.
